Default '99 LS1 Oil Consumption

I've been having an issue with my '99 Trans Am. It seems to be burning oil at a fairly rapid pace. It is not leaking oil, as I have not found a puddle or stain where I park it. There is also no blue smoke when the engine is running. I topped off the oil, and in less than three weeks, the low oil light came on. I added several quarts of oil, and now, less than two weeks later, it is already getting low again. I've tried using 10w-30 and 20w-50 oil types, hoping that the thicker oil would prevent any possible slow leaks, but it hasn't solved the problem. The engine has about 90k miles on it. Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem?

Take off your intake bellow, and open the throttle plate..Look for any oil in the intake manifold. Are cars are notorious for sucking oil thru the PCV system and into the intake. If you see a lot of oil in there you can try a new PCV valve..GM has an updated one out..i think the part number is like 12572717..not 100% sure. I just installed one on my car..I'm hoping this helps my oil consumption issues as well..My'n isnt as bad as yours..but my'n does consume about 1/2 a quart every 1200 miles.

Thanks for the suggestion. My dad is a mechanic and he thought that that might be the problem too. I'll check it out and see if that's the problem.
