bad noise runs fine i got 98 trans am , i was racing it through a 1/8 and as i got to the finish it started shaking and making a knocking noise and i took it to the pits and let it sit and idle and it missed and died down and was low on power, and on the way home it quit and runs fine now but still has a ticking noise to it , i have ran about 30 miles sence and it dosent do it idleing only when i give it a lil gas and it quits at higher rpm. any info would be more then great i needa fix it but i dont have money to throw into a new top end so i just wanna replace what i have to

no codes being thrown , but the local shop said it sounded like a i droped a valve cause the tick sounds like its hitting the top of the pistion, the car has 145,000
