Default FIXED: P0101 MAF performance Failure need advice

Hi Folks
97 Z-28 LT1 – M6. Setting SES - had a P0101, P0171, and P0174. Changed out the MAF sensor (had a spare one), cleared codes, and still get P0101 after I drove it for a while. The Car appears to be dying or is starving for air or gas. I push on the gas pedal and it response like it is normal but then no power - then it is OK - heavy throttle appears to be working OK. I thought when I changed the MAF things would go back to normal. Does anybody have an ideas?
Thanks
Bill

PS P0171 & P0174 is Running Lean Bank 1 & 2

Hi folks
somebody must have had a similar problem - the car stock. Like I said above I replaced the MAF - so it does not need to be cleaned, fuse is good, and intake pipes appear to OK. anybody!
thanks

try cleaning your MAF then drive it for a while to see if the SES goes away

edit: just read you said its a new one so doesn't need to be cleaned. but just to let you know mine was throwing the same codes and it was caused by a dirty MAF. I cleaned it and they wen't away but came back few weeks later, cleaned it again and the SES went away. Do you have a aftermarket filter like K&N? over oiling can cause the MAF to get dirty and cause these codes. just speaking from my experience.

Hi Folks
Here what I found. The other night I changed the MAF it was dark but I had a drop light. this is what I found out today, pulled the MAF, tube going to the TB, and cold air Tube. I have the Moroso cold kit. anyway I found inside the cold air tube was a piece paint (2"x2") from the metal plate. The other night I did not see it because it was dark and I must pushed into the tube (black tube and black piece) when I took it a part. The Piece must have been sucked against the screen on the MAF causing the P0101. Cleaned out the filter, cleaned up the metal piece (removed all loose paint - rusted from the inside out), and put everything back together and no codes.
thanks
Bill
