Default Fixing the Oil Pressure Sensor with Intake Manifold still on?

Well mine is broken from my ls6 manifold install, and I have heard I can fix this with the manifold still on? Is it hard to do? What is the part number for the special socket that I need to install it? I have a Kragen, Autozone, and Napa nearby... Any writeups or pics?

Thats easy, buy the $4 socket from kragen......reach back there and feel the broken sensor, unplug it, place socket over sensor, and unscrew. installation is reverse............just remember, dont tighten it too much otherwise it will strip easily.

Yeah but good luck taking out the sensor socket when you're done.

Other than the broken sensor, you still liking the intake? I don't believe you will have enough room due to the emission hoses,to get your hands on it much less get it out. If you were close,I could have that intake off in 30 min and get youback in business. I've taken that intake off more times than I can count. My guess is it's gonna have to come off to fix it.

He wouldn't have to do all that, just place the socket over it and loosed it until he can unscrew it by hand. when he install it the socket would be used just to get it snug. i've broken my fair share of sensors...

Just pull the intake to be safe. It might take you 15 minutes or an hour

I broke mine off when I did my intake on the SS. I managed to get a socket on the sensor and get it off. It was a tight squeeze and I cut my arms up a little but I didnt want to take the intake off. Took about 20 minutes, getting it off was much harder than getting the new one in. I agree with you XpEdltoUs, what a stupid place to put that thing, I swear they make cars a pain in the *** to work on so you take it in to pay the stealership to do it.

How are you guys breaking them? Are they obviously cracked in half or are they hair line cracks? Just want to know how you can tell when you have messed the oil pressure sensor up. I just did and engine on mine and my oil pressure is alot different then before, the sensor feels fine from what i can tell with out removing it.
