Default Stripped bolt. Need help

My buddy was working on his car and he put the valve cover back on and stipped the top of one of the long bolts. The valve covers and hardware are from jegs, the tall polished valve cover. Idk of that info helped, he just told me to say that. Some help would be appreciated. Thanks

Did he just round off the bolt head? If so you can buy a tool to remove it. "stud extractor" or something like that.

If he just rounded the nut, he can go to Sears and get a "nut extractor" I believe that's what its called. Basically its a set of sockets that have some grooves in them. Works like a champ!

Harbor freight has cheap extractor kits...you just need a drill.

EZ outs have never worked for me when i'm in this situation. I end up using a dremel to cut a groove in the bolt head, then use a flathead screwdriver.
