Unhappy What the hell did I break???

I just fuc*** something up in the car. I was turning onto Guilbeau doing about 30-40 and dropped it into 2nd. Just when I go to drop the clutch and hammer on it, boom! Something gave out bad. I started to think (hope) it was the rear end, but now I'm thinking it was something with the transmission. I can put the car in gear and let the clutch out and nothing happens. I'm assuming if it was the rear end there would be some kind of noise as the driveshaft would try to turn through the chewed up gears.

Looks like its the input shaft according to the same post in the transmission section. That's also what some friends are telling me.

Just have someone look at the driveshaft, see if it's spinning.
If it doesn't spin jack the rear up and put the trans in gear and try to spin the rear wheels, if the driveshaft turns with it in gear and the clutch pedal up it's the trans or clutch.
A long time ago I was running an 8.2 GM rear with a ring gear spacer and a manual trans. I was cruising down the road one day and it just went into neutral, I shut it off, put in it neutral and reached under to turn the driveshaft and it turned. Never made any noise.
I pulled the rear cover off and found all the ring gear bolts broken.
