Please help me with my ABS light i have the codes:)
hey guys i had a friend scan my car for the reason behind why my abs light was on.
We received a c0040 code. it said something about front right abs circuit.
now i am not 100% sure if this means that there is a break in the wire somewhere or of it is hooked up wrong or just bad.
if it is bad how do i go about replacing it?
also can anyone go and check the colors for me where it plugs together on the kmember my plug was broken off and resoldered together and i am not sure if the wire were connected correctly.
Thanks
Louie

Unplug it from both ends, take a multimeter and put it on ohms or continuity setting, check to make sure there is a resistance in each wire (though there should be a slight resistance). If your meter reads .OL, or something similar you have a break in the wire. From the sounds of it being soldered, it has been tampered with before and that is most likely your problem.

so even with the car off there will be a slight resistance to ground on each wire?
would i have to replace the entire front hub if is is just the sensor?

ok... well to put it nicely i am an an idiot/*******/etc.
i have driven without abs asr for months because i never got it scanned or looked or anything.. got it scanned today and checked....
where the harness plugs into the sensor one of the progs was bent and it wasnt plugged in all the way, so only one prong was connected to the wiring.
to make it worse i am the one that did it...
sigh
glad i have it working tho.
