Default new problem, check gauges light flickers randomly

Since yesterday I've noticed my "check gauges" light flickers for about a half second when the car is running. All the instrumental lights & exterior lights seem to flicker too when it does this. Also, when it flickers the RPM's go from like 1100 RPM's to 1400 RPM's, sometimes even jumps to 1800 RPM's. When the RPM's jump like that, the ACTUAL RPM's isn't affected by it. So I'm thinking some kind of electrical problem.

I done my homework so you won't ask me some general questions... All gauges look normal (except when it flickers and the RPM gauge jumps). The gas tank is 3/4 full, the oil pressure reads 35 or so PSI, and the temperature gauge is about 170*

I think my problem might be a fuse. Yesterday morning I was messing with the fuses inside the car to see why my aftermarket radio isn't powering on. What is my next step to fixing this?

Check the ground on the back of the head.
Check the battery tray and make sure it is not broke and the battery is shifting and grounding out.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say?
