Default Aligning headlights

OK, so i bought new headlights a couple months ago. I do not drive my car too often and even less at night ( or in the dark ) But when i first turned the lights on for night time driving it looked as though i only had the fog lights on. that's how low the beams were set. so with the car on a level ground and the lights on, i raised both of them up to a fairly decent height. more of the road was lit up and i thought it was ok.

but when driving tonight, it seems as though they are still not providing the correct amount of light.
am i too used to the light that my wrangler gives off ?? i know it is higher and is at a totally different angle but still, I'm looking for the correct ( or as close to it as possible ) positioning.

any tips tricks or hints ???

thanks
