Default could a bad PCV cause loss of oil?

i have noticed that when i change my oil i am always a quart low or so...when i looked around i saw oil soak around the PCV hose and the hose was somewhat lose and soft around the valve itself...

someone told me that if i have a bad PCV then that can cause me to burn oil??? can this be the culprit of my low oil?

It may or may not be the cause of your problem but it's easy to check it. Take it out and shake it, it should rattle. If you're not sure whether it's good or not just replace it, they are cheap and should be replaced periodically anyway.

LS1 engines do burn oil from factory, the crankcase ventilation system contaminates the intake with blow by oil, and it is burning it with the mix of air and fuel at the combustion chamber, a catch can or breather is recommended.
