Disabling Air bags?

Default Disabling Air bags?

Alright well im about to tear into my steering wheel to put my new turn signal switch in... and i would rather not have an air bag blow up in my face
anyone know how i can disable the air bags a for sure way? or will just removing the battery work?

I never unplug the battery and never been popped in the face by one.

Not sure about these cars but for some cars it has to be running for the air bags to be enabled. You could pull the air bag fuse to be safe if you wanted.

10 seconds after ign off there isn't enough energy to fire off the airbag.

No need to worry about it. If you are still worried then drop the panel under the column and unplug the yellow airbag connector from the body harness while you are working on it. It really is idiot proof you would have to do something stupid to blow em.
