Default question about a idler pulley

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!!! so just to make sure you dont need a puller to take the pulley off i have a squeak coming from the idler pulley on the alt. bracket but when i was trying to take it off it was hard should i tap it with a hammer to loosen it up???

you mean just the pulley part? yeah it should slide off by itself, so give it a quick tap after you take the bolt out

You have the nut off yes? If so it should slide off. Avoid any hammer impacts thats not going to do you any good. Shoot some penetrating oil on and let it soak for a while. It should slide off pretty easily if you have the nut off
