Default Royal Purple And Seafoam

So recently me and my buddy seafoamed our Firebirds. His has about 30k miles and mine has about 43k. We seafoamed them, ran them for a couple days and changed the oil. We both put in Royal Purple. about 500 miles later the oil is Black. Should i just do another oil change? Is there anything better than Royal Purple....i thought it was one of the best?

IMO it may be caused my some left over safoam that diddnt get drained out. How long do you let your oil drain? RP is good stuff I swear by it but around here everyone seems to have there own brand.

Oil turns black when it is heated, any junk let loose by the seafoam should get stuck in the filter and is probably not effecting the color. My brother's car's owners manual even warns against judging oil by its color because it turns black after the first time the engine is ran.

we drained the oil untill it stopped coming out on its own, then poured about a half quart fresh oil in, and waited for that to stop.

oh, and we pulled the oil filter before we poured in the half quart.
