Question Acceleration problem

I have a problem with my acceleration that I have not figured out yet. For example, when I am in 5th gear cruising at 50mph-ish and I floor the pedal, the rpms will shoot up for a few seconds, and then come down and start going up. This happens in all the gears when I floor it. When the rpms are 2750+ this problem doesn’t really happen. I’ve had the intake checked out, that is fine. I bought some fuel injector cleaner so I’ll see how that is. I’m hoping its not my clutch. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

When does a clutch usually go bad? The car has 66k miles. I remember my v6 camaro's clutch lasted untill about 90k.

Do I have to replace all the pieces or do I just have to replace the clutch disc?

Clutch disc, and throw out bearing will probably get you by (unless the disc is scored).

Depending on your mileage I would consider a slave as well- because if it leaks it could take out your new clutch. my .02

I think a stock clutch can hold 350hp( at the motor ), do a search to find out more questions you might have, there is plenty of great clutch info here on tech.
