Default Water leak fixed, still have a ?

I had a puddle of standing water in my passenger floor board, so I came on the forum last night and did a search... and found that the evaporator drain may be clogged since it was clean water...

I took it to the dealership this morning and the tech took a clothes hanger and poked it in the hole in the firewall, then about a gallon of water poured out...

So, I think my problem is fixed but I have a question:

The tech said that there was no rubber hose sticking out from the firewall. Is there suppose to be? Or not, because of the heat from the manifold/cat melting it?

Thanks guys.

There is no hose, only a hole.
