I have this very loud whistiling noise comming from around the lower half of the motor, It only does it at low idle and seems to take a minute to build up. Ive been told its the air pump, what do you think?

as soon as I give it a little gas it goes away,But I dont think its a belt it sounds more like air and it seems to bleed down when I turn the car off.

The air pump in wifeees Camaro does that, it sounds like a jet engine for a min. or so. If it isn't effecting your performance or fuel mileage, I wouldn't worry with it.$.02

Don't know what it is, but if it only happens on cold starts for a couple minutes could be the air pump. To verify you could pull the AIR PUMP fuse under the hood while it's making the noise and see if it stops.
