You don't want to totally purge the system as it can be a pain to get all the air out once the system is completely dry. I'd recommend just taking a turkey baster and sucking out all of the fluid in the resevoir and replacing it with new.

o i completly flushed my power steering system after my new power steering cooler install, i took off the return line that goes to the resoirvoir then i pointed it downword into a bottle (it will squirt very fast) jus mak sure you turn the car off! dont let it run dry! and you must moniter the fluid level for a day or two because it will get low without notice!

We have a p/s flush machine at work. For the price of a cleaner and 2 litres of new oil you can't go wrong. The pump doesn't go dry and you don't have to undo any lines. Just a thought.

yea we have teh BG machine at work, its great.
but take off the lp line point in a bucket, and have a friend fill it while you let it start for a few secconds. the do it over and over.
or take of the surpintene belt and spin the pulley by hand, while the lp is pointed in a bucket
