Default Car running horrible

The other day my car (98 LS1) started running horribly, will idle fine when you first turn it on, but when you start driving it will stutter, pop, and when using the brakes it will try to stall out if you don't give it gas. The best way I can describe it is an LT1 that has had a bucket of water poured on the optispark, lol.

I really don't know much about cars but I think it could be ignition related?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, if you've check the spark plugs and wires already, I would replace the PCV valve first....the part throttle problems you're having will be caused by a bad one.

I would sell it and get a pontiac, they have much better engines
An easy and free thing to look for is a vacuum leak. Especially where your egr return line goes into your throttle body. I've had both of my 99 LS1's develop a leak there.

Also, are you getting any codes?

Pop the hood when it's running and see if you can hear a vacuum leak.
