Default Oil Pan Info

I've been a Mercedes Tech for 4 years and I just bought a 2000 SS/ 6speed and the oil pan gasket is leaking. I've been able to change it on some other cars in the past while the engine is in the car, I'm wondering if anyone has changed it while the engine is in the car, I know there is not much room for the engine to be lifted without hitting the cowl. Any info would be good before I go tearing it apart.
