Why the bad gas mileage???
Well fellas I recently aquired an 01 SS Camaro, and as i recall i was getting about 220-240 miles per tank when i bought it. Unfortunately i now seem to be getting MAYBE 175 miles per tank! Ive changed the oil within a thousand miles, and i just recently changed the tranny fluid. The air filter is clean, and i just put a new fuel filter in today. Im planning a spark plug/wire change, but also want to use seafoam to clean the injectors, and ive heard to wait and do a plug/wire change after seafoam???? the last thing i want to do is perform mantinence and then have to do it again right away, I know a lot of gas mileage has to do with your foot i generally shift around 3k rpms, and about 25-50% throttle most of the time, as in 99%, flooring it basically never because that only seems to break things! Any thoughs or ideas? im also considering the possibilty of bad o0 sensors, but dont want to replace something that isnt broken!!
thanks fellas!
thanks fellas!

Why are you revving to 3K?
I shift at like 1800 lol, or if I rev it a bit higher I'll skip a gear. I get 260ish miles to a "tank" and I have a smaller tank than you!
Throw some seafoam at it, see if your gas mileage gets better. Generally changing fluids isn't going to affect gas mileage too much, also make sure there are no blockages in your cats etc. A tune up will surely help with gas mileage as well.
How many miles on the engine?

There's a big difference between city and highway mileage on these cars. In the city, I get less than 180 miles a tank. (Average 2000 - 3000 rpm with lots of stop and go.) On flat highways, I can get 400+ miles. (Average 1900 rpm in overdrive.)
If you really think you have a problem, you might check the car to see if its throwing any codes.

I'd be lucky to get 400miles anymore after my mods.
Even with a cam, I still shift at around 2k for fairly light driving, if I pop to 3 k, I skip gears and do a 1-3-5 shift. If it's wet or really cold, anything above 2k will produce wheel spin for me.
