Default Low Coolant light comes on

, but when I check the radiator capacity when it's cold, it's full. I added a little bit to the reservoir awhile back, though. What's the deal?

I don't think the reservoir is full. I'll check that tomorrow. It's probably more likely the sensor is bad. I've heard their a common item to go out on F-Bodies.

Thanks. I watched my temperature gage, too, each time to make sure it wasn't getting too hot.

Sensors like to go in these cars. You can also pull it out and clean it, quite possibly clean up your problem. If it doesn't go away, just put a new one in. No biggy.

Exactly. The sensor could have gunked up coolant which can be cleaned. Try cleaning it first and see if the light goes off. If not then get a new one.

Pull the sensor and see if it's really dirty, if your coolant is dirty you should probably flush it.

check for contamination from a PS cooler leak. that's what caused mine to give false coolant low light.

You can flush your coolant at home. And the sensor reads the Coolant level, nothing else. There's no reason for you to get a flush.

Would I just drain the tank? What about the block?
