Default Changing water pump gasket. What coolant?

Ok fellas. I'm gonna change the pump gasket (leak) this weekend on next and replace the thermostat with a 160 degree one. What coolant should i go with, as it's hot most of the year? I live in SoCal.

Dexcool is some nasty ****, but it is the stock required coolant.

If you wanna take it to a shop & have the entire coolant system flushed out until pure clean water runs completely thru it you can convert to the green stuff like old school cars run. Just make sure you don't get the Dexcool mwith anything or it'll start corroding & eating at the Aluminum.

Don't use Dexcool if you aren't going to regularly check up on your coolant level. Dexcool becomes corrosive when there is air in the system. It will lock up your thermostat and reduce the efficiency of your cooling system by reacting with the metal surface.

Green stuff won't do that but will loose it's protectiveness in 2 years. Then it will eat the metal but it doesn't matter cause it will take a long time to "eat" through your block. People over examine it. I have WP housings that are from the 60's and they are ok!!

It is a personal choice.
