Default High Oil Pressure from New Sending Unit?

Just did my LS6 Intake swap this past weekend on my 1998 Formula. Oil is GC 0-30. Of course I broke my factory 120k mile oil pressure sending unit so replaced it with one from Orilleys.

Before the swap my idle would be around 30-40 or so at idle and 55-60 @ WOT. Now it seems that at WOT the pressure rises to around 65-70 and idles around 40 when warm. Never gets to 80 @ WOT thank god.

Does this seem right? I thought I heard that only the 98's had sending units that actually work or was that the coolant temp gauge? Either way what should my pressure be at? Thanks

Mine jumped up about the same, but some of the pressure is from the colder 0weather. I also have a 98 and it went up 15-20 psi when I replaced mine, I also used a new gm unit. Good sign nothing to worry about the old one one was just off a little

Is there anyway to change this with the intake on? I cant see it since its under the dash board. What holds it on? I can feel the plug that goes to it.

It just screws in, you can pick up an oil pressure sensor socket at your local parts store.
