Hatch opening problem

Hatch opening problem Hey everyone I'm having some trouble with my hatch not opening.. I already did the spring piggybacked on the original spring, and I just put in new hatch struts tonight.. The hatch releases fine, but I was under the assumption, that after it was released, it would pop right open w/o me having to touch it, is this correct? I have to pull it all the way up myself and it will stay there on its own. If not, please advise a way for me to correct this problem, Thanks!

That's how it's supposed to work, you don't have any problems
