Battery Tray / hold down - What's it supposed to look like?
My car has an Optima red top in it, and it's not secure at all. The hold-down clamp fits against the base of the battery, but the front that should "hook" under the battery has been broken or cut off..
I need to figure out a way to securely hold the battery in place for autocross events..
So with my hold down has been modded to fit the battery (as I read about when searching), or it's just broken, and ordering a new tray is all it'll take (p/n 10402687 )
Or, I may have to break out the welder and start fabbing a hold-down..

I know a guy who used one and he said it works great.

The battery holder is all part of the coolant recovery bottle, the guy up top mentioned Year One for a replacment generic holder, they also sell the exact replacment bottle, mine broke too, they all do. Your options are go back stock with a new bottle, or rig up another style hold down. PS-I have a red top too, I went back stock...
