Question Window motors from Ebay

Hey everyone, does anyone know if window motors that can be purchased from Ebay are any good? I need to replace both of mine soon, and was wondering if it would be better to get them from Ebay for cheaper, or spend a little extra and get those stocked at Autozone etc. Thanks!

Heres an example of the Ebay ones, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-99...em130193302090

Why don't you try the window motor relay mod first?

Im not really sure about the quality of the ones on ebay. I know a buddy of mine bought one from ebay with the picture of the motor and writing across the picture and he got it and all itwas a broke piece of plastic im not sure what happened after that. I think he ened up gettin one at the chevy dealership.

I've bought a couple from an ebay store before - worked but they were noisey. My advice is to get them locally with a lifetime warranty from auto zone, etc.

the motor in my driver door is from ebay. A little louder than the passenger motor but it is much faster. I've had it since september.

Get the autozone special with a lifetime warranty. Like $60 I think.

mine lasted about 30 seconds...and then it would hesitate and not work...work for a second and then stop again. It came with the new brackets and arms, my factory ones were kinked just a little bit so I used the new arms and had to go to chevy for a new motor..it was like 90 bucks or something

Default ebay window motor

man i got one off ebay. it had a lifetime warrant but when the bodyshop man opened the box it looked fine but the gear was plastic. he recommended me going back a motor with a steel gear. so i chose to get a gm motor. maybe if i was doing the work myself i would have tried it. but when he held the gm by the ebay motor there was no comparing the quality difference.

I think its a hit or miss for the ebay site, mine had the metal gear and looked exactly the same as the factory one, except cleaner...just took a crap as soon as it had power to it. Obviously quite a few of these guys have had good luck, so its just a chance game

Same here. It's not a procedure I would personally like to repeat anytime soon.
