Have you checked the electrical continuity of your oil pressure sending unit?

Also it more than likely is just a surge from your MAF.

Did the car had a regular sensor descreened? Stock? Was the stock sensor modified in any way?

That metal bar is actually..important to the MAF in sensing air flow. Also descreening wont show any power increases at all. It could either be the current problem at hand (the MAF) or the oil pump is acting up. 98's had oil/rod bolt problems.

Put a stock maf back in Grantelli is crap unless you plan on doing extensive tuning to compensate for it.

WTF?! Are you serious?!

Oh man. Return that overpriced Granatelli unit and get a stocker. Leave the screen and the bar intact this time...

my maf is guted and descreened and its also polished and i havent had and problems out of it. it was p&p when i got the car. try cleaning it and send the other maf back. get a can og electrical contact cleaner or a can of maf cleaner at the auto parts store to clean it then take it off the car and spary it down good but make shure and dont touch the wires! also it could just be the sender min started jumpin around a little but when i give gas or when im crusing its fine.
