Default GM High Performance 2.5 ton jack - good?

I have this cheepy 2 ton jack from Auto Zone right now and hate it.

Saw a 2.5 ton GM High Performance low-profile jack (with an LED in the middle to line it up) and was wondering how good these things are? It's only 35 bucks!

never heard anything about it but for 35 bucks I don't know. I put a dent in my car a while back for having a jack fail so I'm not getting anything but high quality jacks from now on!

Yea man, I agree. The quality of a jack could be the difference between life and death. I would go with a high quality one and go for a 3 or 3 1/2 ton jack for more comfort.

ya you basically get what you pay for in that department, better to be safe than have the car fall on you.

I had one of those and it was a POS. You had to crank the **** out of it to get the car up and then it wouldn't hold it there. It would start coming down really slow almost right away. It was also very hard to get a slow decline when letting the car down with the screw. Luckily, it started leaking fluid after using it about 10 times so I took it back and got my money back.

Now I got a craftsman professional low profile and it was worth every penny. Very nice jack!
