front right turn signal
I've had my car for 3 months and have replaced this damn thing 4 times. On the part of the bulb that goes into the socket, the little metal wires are corroded off which is what is causing the light to go out but what makes it so corroded?

It's water like number 1 said it get in there and sit in the lowest point which is the socket, I had the same prob on my 98. So i cleaned the socket with alcohol and blew it out with air and then put digrease on it with a new blub. Now 6months later no more problems.

Yea I been using the bulb grease. I was thinking it might have been the company. I got Sylvania from the zone. But I dont get it because its only the one side. Lets see how long this new bulb lasts...

Yea my left side usually goes out once in awhile luckily I dont drive the car that much but it still gets screwed up every so often lucky I can change the bulb in like 5 min lol. The passenger side bulb I dont think I have replaced but it will probably break after me saying this.

Check to make sure your lens (housing) isn't cracked. If you get any water pooling inside, the bulb will blow when its hot and the water sloshes against it. The lens takes a beating being on the bumper. Even with a hairline crack, water gets driven in to the lens when driven in wet conditions.

I have the same problem! I even bought brand new connectors that cost me 90$ and about 2 months later it looked the same. Now I just dont care and leave it because it has a mind of its own. It works sometimes and other times it just does not.

If the socket is extremely corroded try this sometime. Call me crazy but I had your guy's same problems and I did this....Take a coffee cup and fill it up with coke/pepsi whatever...Dip the socket into the coke for about a minute or 2 and it will eat away all the corrosion in the socket. After you do it spray the socket with electrical contact cleaner. I had this problem and went to the stealership looking for a new socket and the parts guy told me to try it...Been fine for over a year now
