Default Coolant Concern

Hey guys I just found out about 4 days ago that my car needed the Orange coolant.. well I have had my car for about 2 years and it has had the green one ever since and I have toped it off with the green one as well because I didn't know it needed the orange one. Should I change or just leave it? It has not giving any problems.

Suggestions?

useing green will not hurt your system. i just switched over to the yellow it mixes with everything with no problems. there is a big discussion on the subject which is better green or orange but i think it is personal opinion. If you decide to stay green i would flush the system to be sure the switch was done properly and then put what you want in.

yes there is no problem switching to green. Just make sure you have all the orange out of your system like what was said by doing a flush. I had a 98 s10 before my z28 and it used dexcool. After awile it just turned into sludge so i flushed it really good and cleaned the overflow bottle and switched to green.

dude change it to orange. the reason is cause the block is aluminum and it runs hotter than an iron block. that coolant is ment to run with aluminum blocks. ill change it asap.

green has been around for more then 40 years!! aluminum and iron and everything! it works fine on mine! dont worry about it! and the green coolent runs a tad bit cooler then the orange! the orange dexcool is only good for the newer cars with the pressurized secondary tank! KEEP THE GREEN!

Change the green antifreeze once every two years and you will be fine. It has been used longer in aluminum applications than most members here have been alive.

thats the main thing, as long as its not mixed, if you change one way or the other it must be flushed real good, together they gel up and clog the system, as long as its clean and fresh keep it till you need a change.
