Default egr cleaning

how would i go about cleaning the whole valve? should i spray into the plunger hole while opening the pin? my valve is kinda stiff to press to open.

I don't know about LT1's but when I cleaned my LS1 EGR the service manual specifically said not to use carb cleaner, or any spray for that matter, for some reason.

Which is weird 'cause that's how I've always cleaned valves on other cars.

I ended up just using compressed air.

ok i cleaned it and i noticed the thing sounds like a salt shaker when you shake it i guess from ALOT of carbon. also, the plunger is pretty hard to push. it takes 2 hands.

would that cause an SES and stall?
