Default Knock sensor question?

Doing an LS6 intake on a 98 SS. I went to replace the knock sensors and when I pulled the boot off the rear sensor the inside was all covered in oil. The front sensor was completely clean so I am assuming the rear one is abnormal and possible a problem. Any insight here would be much appreciated.

Maybe its normal then. On a side note how do you get the harness off the sensor?
