so, i took my car to the body shop after my friend's girlfriend backed into my baby.. :-(
luckily it was not that bad, just a little dent in the left rear quarter panel..
anyways!
after i picked up my car from the body shop, all is well, very good work done.
as soon as i start the engine, the security light stayed on, and has been on ever since, tried to find it in the manual but gave up..
anyone know what may have caused this????

Try cleaning the contacts on your key

could be the key, a little dirty
if not.. anything to do with the body sensors??
i have no idea if there are any on the quarter panels??

If the security light is on, there is a potential issue with the security system (i.e. your key chip/and or ignition switch/relay/etc). Does the car start and run ok? If so I'd suggest trying to find the issue asap before it leaves you stranded. I guess it is always possible that they left a ground off somewhere, but I do not think they would be unplugging/removing anything that would interfere with that while doing the quarter panel.

its strange... the car runs fine, just the light stays on for 5 minutes then goes off,
i dont know, ill just have to see whats up i guess??

the security light is still staying on after a few weeks now.
anyone know what it could possibly be?? how to fix..?
