Default Putting center console back together

I can't get the light for the gear selector to go back in. I'm at the point where i'm going to rip it out, because it's just that fkn frustrating.

Can someone please tell me the correct method for screwing this piece of crap back in?

I'm probably taking my auto console out tomorrow. I'll post up if I end up doing it.

I just twisted the wires a few times in the opposite direction and then stuck the bulb up there in the upper-console piece. Seems to be holding itself in there with just the torsion of the wires.

Also, the bulb is out and I think it has been for a long time lol... didn't even realize there was a bulb in there at all.

It is one of those ones that you stick in and spin it a half a turn or so and it locks its self into place.

It spins the half-turn. I'm aware of that part. It is not locking in place though. It just moves about freely. Maybe I broke something. I looked and did not see anything obvious.
