did you have it tuned? Could be rich as *****. Hell, I have a 483 RWHP 427ci and I get 200 miles to a tank if I drive casual in the city. 14 mpg.

when you smack the gas from a cruising speed do you get a big cloud of dark smoke swirling behind you?

Normal for heavy city driving. My '99 ranges from 12 mpg in dense down-town city driving to 29.5 mpg on the highway descending through mountains.

You might try taking it easy on the throttle for a tank and see if you get any difference. Cleaning carbon from the engine may give you another 2mpg, as well.

Check your air filter also, I was getting about 229 a tank, started driving everywhere in 6 gear (have 4.11s) and cleaned the air filter which had mud caked in it, and now I get about 260. Just a thought

160 miles is not normal - your car is not well.

I just drove to Daytona and got 27.2 mpg like 300 to a tank, but I filled up at a half a tank in case traffic.

160 to a tank that has to be a record in some book. That really sucks.

Holy christ

sabres97: Is there an SES light on? Bad o2 sensors can attribute to shitty gas mileage.

PS: are you in Buffalo?

Never said, auto or M6? My auto gets about 250-270 city and about 350 highway, but my M6 gets 200-225 city and near 400+ highway. . .

Even if I am not getting any codes for the 02 sensor should I try replacing mine? My 02 sensors are the only part of my full tuneup that I did not do and I need to improve my mileage ASAP! Thanks!

No - You probably won't get your money back. If you haven't done a carbon cleaning on your engine, that should get you the most bang for your buck..

What is your mileage? Talking in terms of a "tank" is not very accurate. I can fill up my tank on different days and be 3 gallons off. On a road trip, that's an additional 90 miles.

A couple of you guys are making me feel better than you get around 160 to a tank, thats what i get all city as well. Im at 110 miles right now at the 3/4 mark. I seriously don't get how some cars get twice the mileage of other cars. My car is fully tuned up, no lights or smells. The car doesn't even see over 2500 rpms since its all city, stop signs and lights every 100ft.

In my Ta I could go 350 miles. 3.23 gear. I never went that far to often because I was scared the fuel pump would get damaged.
