Default How to adjust headlights?

I have a 2000 Firehawk. Since I have owned it the headlights have sucked. The fog lights are even worse. I just replaced all of the headlights with Sylvania's new lights.

I think the main problem is the adjustment. What's the best way to set them? The bights are way to low and the lows seem to be to far out towards the outside.

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

You'll see screws on each light, I think two each. Take a philips screwdriver and start adjusting them up or down, left or right. You need to take the black plastic covers off first if I remember correctly. Philips screw driver is all you need for everything.

I know that part. But I don't know where to point them.

I am sure a lot of people use trial and error. I didn't know if there was a, park the car so many feet against a wall, the beam should be so many feet off the ground, etc.

I think some body shops do it with a computer but I am not for sure.

What I would do on all my previous cars is park about 50ft away from a wall on level ground and have the light be approx 1.5ft up the wall. It works for me. Obviously the high beams can be a little higher.

Its all a matter of personal preference. Some people like the beam up close, I like it pretty far up the road.

T15 Torx, not Phillips.

Nope. The cover is notched above and to the side of each sealed beam.

Here are some aiming guidlines.... found using Google:

Just park on a dark street and tilt them up/down until they are focuses about 60-70 feet out in front on the road. Left/right....put the two beams next to each other in the same lane out in front. You will clearly see both beam points out in front of you 60-70 feet away. Its easy.
