clunk, clunk, clunk coming from rear or car
I notice it mostly when I'm going slow or in reverse. It speeds up if I go faster but the engine, and exhaust drown it out. Any ideas?

I have a similar problem. It usually wont do it unless I have been driving for a while. I think Im going to try to replace my univeral joints on the drive shaft and hope its not the rear end.
I took my car out of gear last time it happened and the sound nearly went away so its only under load... Does that sound like your problem?

Your posi may have sheared a tooth or to or you could have broken your ring gear. Also their could be a lot of slack in the posi. Have you gotten sideways or taken it to the track lately? 6 Speeds tear up these rears easy. I have broken 3 already...

Nah no side ways or hard launches. I guess it's time to pull the cover. Any idea how hard it is to change out the gear in the rear or about how much mula it will run me?

anywhere from 150-260 for a gear kit, you might as well do 4.10s if you havent already. You could do it yourself just have to know how deep to set the pinion teeth in the gear for how your going to drive it.

if its ur stock rear do not put 4.10's in it...they are a weaker gear and will not last long, dnt throw ur money away, go with a stronger gear///3.73's are good in a stock rear

They are smaller teeth on the ring, and are somewhat weaker, when built right it will hold what a 3.73 will. Wake your car up, do the right thing go 4.10. And no its not throwing away money, girdle it for a little more peace of mind. With your mods you will be OK. driving crazy with a great clutch and sticky tires you will have a problem. Do a search there is a **** LOAD of people who run 4.10s and they are fine.

and there are alot of people like myself who had 4.10s and had thm break, i wouldnt go back to 4.10's unless i had an aftermarket rear, and yes in a way it is a waste to put thm in a stock rear, cause they arent gnna last as soon as u put stickies etc on ur car,get a new rear if ur doin 4.10's, o and im entitled to my own opinions dudeee
