Question Alarm Going Off

I got a 99 SS camaro with the factory alarm and every time a loud car truck or bike drives by it toots the horn twice and sometimes goes off all together.... Is there a way to turn down the sensitivity?? And The security light on my dash has been on sense i bought the car, been about 2 months i have owned, does that have anything to do with it?

Yes, you can turn down the sensitivity on the shock sensor (counterclockwise), it's in the spare tire area on the wheel well. If you mean the security light on the instrument panel that's a VATS issue, not related to the alarm, BCM isn't recognizing the key pelet resistance value. First thing to try is cleaning the key or trying a spare if you have one.
