Default Electrical problems

So lately I have noticed that my trip odometer has been resetting to 0 almost every time I drive.

Last night while driving home my "Check gauges" light was flickering on and off. When I got home and put the car in park, my tachometer flickered to 5000 rpm and then just died. This morning it works fine again.

Any ideas? I think it may be the battery or alternator, but I had them both checked and they were fine.

The '99 cars can reset the trip odometer and it's sometimes accompanied by a guage sweep with low voltage, usually happens on start up though. Was low voltage the reason for the check gauges light? If so I'd check the battery connections and have it load tested again.
