black smoke... help

Default black smoke... help

so aparently people are telling me that im buring a crap ton of oil and black smoke out of my 2000 ss, but only when im at wot. theres nothing major done to the car, jus lid and long tubes without cats, and my check engine light isnt on or anything. anyone have any idea what this could be? and the car has 53000 miles on it

Some is normal because the tune goes rich at WOT. Your headers probably made it a little richer and no cats does not help. Sounds normal to me.

its black, and yeah thats what i was telling the people that told me, but the insisted that its nto because they can "smell the oil so bad"

my car is the exact same way(mods in sig)..these things are pretty normal...mine smoked blue from oil when i let off above 4k and let it come down..problem was valve seals..now its fine...ur good man..if they are seeing it that means ur winning..

Have you had a tune since headers/ory? Ive heard they can make it run rich which i think would cause black smoke. But im not a mechanic for the record lol.

kinda freaked me out the first time I saw that on my car. But after a good tune I am not worried about it any more. Reading alot of threads found out that ALOT of car do this
