Car Battery review comments :) New DieHard Platinum
I have had a optima red top for 2 years. For the last 10 months everytime I go crank my car it is 100% dead. I have to boost it off. This happens after only 5-10 days sitting. I checked to make sure something was not draining it. I took it back to sears and it was "Dead". It was under warranty, but they do not sell the optima red top no more. I paid 47 dollars with tax for a Die Hard Platinum . Hopefully this will be better, the warranty is quite good with 48 month full replacement!
I know the big 3 are the main people that make all the batteries and they get re-stamped, but hopefully I'll have better luck. My dad had a optima die red top die too.
I like "good" batteries, but I could go buy about 3 oreaily house brand(what I use in my other car which also died yesterday after about 18 months). But I have had good luck with diehards before, so hopefully this Platinum will be good also. I also read on other forums red tops dont' like to be fully discharged, they dont play well after that.

I just put one in my car last month. The Optima was just under 3 years old and wondered what Sears was going to do since they don't sell them anymore but honored the warranty. Bought my car new and so far have been through the stock ACDelco, Diehard Gold (warm climate), and Optima.

I figured this thread would get more feedback on batteries. 4 years 100% replacment seems to be at the top of all the batteries I have seen.
I know in the 80's the Diehard Gold is the only thing my dad purchased, and he had good luck.

I, too, have a DieHard Platinum 34/78 (damn thing is HUGE). It beat my old Optima in CCA and RC, and has a really, really nice warranty. I'm not planning on having to replace it anytime soon, especially since the car spends most of its time hooked up to a battery tender in my garage.
