bad motor. If you have noises still coming from it it could be the gear.

I just had this problem for a month and I was freaking out about it. I just fixed it today.
Here you go:

Grinding noise coming from headlight - you need a metal gear for inside the motor

NO NOISE AT ALL, Motor Seems Practically dead:

1. Check your fuses under the engine bay, it'll say something like "LH/RH (left hand right hand) And then its abbreviated to some degree of a headlight door, they're 15 amps

2. Your harness for the motor could be corroded or shot.

3. Your motor could have went completely.

Turns out my problem, after getting SO CLOSE to spending money on a new motor, it was a 50 cents fuse.
