Squeek from strut area when car bounces?
I know that my struts/shocks are about shot, the car is bouncing way to freely, but there is a squeek coming from around there when the car bounces. Before I get in there to change them out, I was wondering if any one may be familiar with this sound, and has any advise for a fix as I install the new struts.
Is there some type of grease to be used when I'm doing the install of the new struts that will keep these new ones from making a similar noise?
Sorry for the crapy write-up, its just that I have never changed them out before, and I'm unfamiliar with the parts in the area.
Thanks for any advice,
Brad

Try re-lubing your swaybar bushings. I was having a similar squeak on my passenger side and thought it was my struts. Turned out my swaybar bushings had no lube at all. None... Nada... Zip... I installed some Energy Suspension bushings and lubed them real good. Fixed it.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending in how you look at it) I had already purchased a complete set of Koni SA shocks/struts. Guess I'll have to get these installed even though my squeak is fixed. DAMN!

Thanks guys for the advise! I am installing the struts I purchased a month ago, and I will get some of that lube for the bushings. Kill two birds with one stone!
