Default windshield wiper blades, trico #'s, opinions?

tired of bosch excel wipers at $20 a pop tearing,
looked at trico's and the camaro uses a 24" blade both driver and passenger sides.

trico lists 24-1 for driver & passenger side,
and 24-9 for driver & passenger side,
and on the shelf they had 24-9r driver & passenger side "exact fit camaro" but was $5 more.
I did compare the 24-1 and 24-9 and while the blade lengths are the exact same, where the little arms come from the big main arm to the rubber blade are in different positions. Does it matter?
Does anybody use the trico 24-1, -9 or -9r?
and wtf, how come you can't get just refills anymore?

i never used them but i normally go with the cheap rain x's and have never had one rip. seen someone else rip one but thats because they pulled it from a frozen window before they defrosted.

well there's at least one competent person at trico, the email response from them regarding the difference between 24-1, 24-9, and 24-9r:

We made an adaptor change so that the 24-1 which goes on 9x3 hooks will
also now work on 9x4 hooks. The 24-9 was the previous part for these
larger hooks. Your car uses a 9x4 hook. Either blade will work.
Eventually, the 24-9's will be gone - this is a running change. The
24-9R is for an older Camaro that had this goofy Reverse hook design.
We are the only manufactures that offer this. You don't have this on
your vehicle.

Have you tried any of those new fangled ones that don't have a "frame"? They are more expensive but worth it IMHO. It's all I use on my vehicles now. I think I have goodyear on the T/A right now. I've also used the Bosch Icon's and they work great as well. Super easy to install too.
