Car has no power up top???
Well, the car was doing fine this morning. I drove it to to get some breakfast and when I pulled in the lot the fuel line popped off of the rail. I put the line back on the rail and tightened it down again, it was pretty loose and just blew off. Now, the car drives fine but doesnt have ANY power past about 4k rpm. It pulls normal below 4k but it starts to break up very badly after 4k. Any ideas on where I could start looking? There are no fuel leaks and the pump primes fine.
BTW this an LS1.

sorry to hijack but I have the same problem, which started happening after my longtube install. I tried to trace the problem to my burnt o2 extension which was defiantly in need of fixing. I replaced that and it helped a bit but now I'm not sure where to look, the plug wires are my next guess. If you dont have those problems then maybe somone else can jump in and solve this for the both of us. end

i have a bit of the same problem myself that starting occurring after my longtube install as well. But its not that the car has NO power, my decrease in power isn't felt until high up in the RPM ranges. I had the car on the dyno and right at 5k to 5.5k it started wigging out and the power fell off.
I don't have the answer, but id sure like to know it

that could very well be the problem because as i posted a couple posts down, my car is cranking a long time before it starts when i let it sit for a while, which is a symptom of a clogged fuel filter as i found out. but it is just odd that we both (slow1999blackz28 and myself) have the same problems right after a LT install

my drop off is at 4500 and the exhaust pops and i can feel the power drop off under wide open throttle if i ease it up there it seems to be fine. ill be sure to change the fuel filter now too.

Maybe a sensor issue (crank, tp)? If you say that the power loss happens at WOT, maybe the tps is sending false signals to the pcm, and it in turn is changing the fuel/spark tables.
