Default broken gas cap?

tried a search and found nothing.

i have a 98 with a metal gas tank and solid filler neck. anyway, while dropping the tank for a new pump i had to bend the filler neck to get it out and back in. before i figured out a good way to bend it, i had cracked the plastic around the neck where you fill up (the one with the threads for the gas cap). i put the cap on and it closed fine so i left it alone.

forward to today, i start smelling gas while im driving and when i get out of my car there is gas all over my drivers side quarter panel. it was leaking from where i had cracked it earlier (im guessing on right hand turns)

does the plastic threading come off of the neck of the gas tank? if so where can i get another? i realllllllly dont want to replace the tank.

thanks in advance....

Lightbulb

I went to http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ Sorry! But that part isn't listed separately from the fuel tank. Maybe you can find a used fuel tank!

Default

Not sure what you broke. I'd visit the dealer and see what they say for a PN.
