Just joined the Flew off t-top club tonight...help!!
So im cruising with a few friends tonight an i realized there was suddenly alot more air in the car...look up to see no top on my side an a top on the passenger side. needless to say the thing took major flight according to my friend behind me and shattered. So now what is my best bet at finding a new one?? I'm thinking ebay but what color is my interior so I dont get it wrong. It's a 99 ws6 with like a charcoal interior I believe. Is there a difference from the 2000-2002 colors?

They are only going to come in charcoal or ebony (Black), so yours should be charcoal (dark gray). Ebay might be your best bet for a quick deal that is decent. I was recently able to get a great deal on a t-top for my car in the FS section here but I wasn't really in a huge rush. I hope you were able to pick up the remains of your t-top so you can use your lock cylinder in the new one. When my t-top flew off it landed glass side down on the side of the highway, so I was able to snag the trim in the same condition before its departure. That was nice because I was able to just swap over the trim to match my interior. If you get a t-top off an earlier car, make sure it doesn't have the dot matrix tint.
Anyways GL finding a replacement

just how do guys lose your T Tops? I've had 5 camaros and have never had a top "fly" off! Do you all leave the levers down? Are y'all using it as a hand hold or something? This amazes me!

I almost lost my passenger side t-top a few years back. I think it was someone who was playing with my latch to see how it worked. I noticed a loud rush of air on the highway and when i looked the t-top was standing up vertically. Basically like a shark fin sticking out of the water, luckily i slowed down and it just came back down so i could close it up.

Been there, done that w/ the passinger's side, in my case. The factory repl.(which was the route I choose, back in 98) was like $125. ish. But, I've seen a number of T-Tops listed in the classifed section of LS1Tech for sale cheaper than that.
It SUCKS, I know!
Good luck!

There is a thread on here to show how to adjust the locks.....not the pin itself but the adjustable mount on the car.....I suggest lookin it up. Its not all that hard for them to pop off when you consider some were not set as "tight" added with Chassis Flex.
