Default Not holding a charge when turned off

Car is a 2000 V6 Camaro/A4.

Has a brand new battery, alternator has been tested and checked out good.

Here's the scoop:

I can jumpstart the car and it runs great, volts hold steady @ 13/14. I can then turn off the car, restart it and everythings fine. When I turn it off and then just turn the ignition on the amps read pretty low around 8/9.

The car will start right up hours later after sitting, but if you do anything like say leave the door open for 30 seconds the batter is completely drained and it needs to be jumped again...whats going on here?

you must have a short then in the wiring. sure sounds like it. use the test light method connected inline with the negative battery cable

is might have parasitic drain if you have a volt meter turn the car off make suer everything is off hook up a volt meter to battery lets say is read 12.56 leave it there for about an hr came back and see what is ready when it says anything lower than 12.35-12.40 its being drained i once had that happen my dome light bulb switch was in the middle of off and on and the light didnt come on but it drained the battery overnite in ur case it might be a big drain try that

There is most likely a drain. Anything added to the car recently, stereo, LED's, alarm?

Start at the alternator, check the wires from there all the way to the end in all directions. There has to be a bad connection or wire thats what you have to do. somewhere. It will take time, but sometimes take time to fix.
