Default E-Brake handle

I just bought a leather e-brake handle off someone on the board to replace my current plastic one. I cannot figure out how to pop off the grip to replace it. there seems to be a rivet or screw or something on the drivers side of the handle, i tried experimenting with that but still could not get it off... the handle was cut off the E-brake assembly so i need to pull this bad boy off!!! HELP!!!

I drilled the rivet out of mine, a little tedious - but no big deal.

After that, I used a small black zip tie to secure it in place. Almost invisiable, and easy to remove again if I want to.
