Angry install troubleshooting

Just installed a cam, heads and also fast 90/90. The car idles at 1100 rpm. The question is if you hit the gas the car will rev higher and takes awhile to get back down to 1100. The fast throttle body was used. I didnt know if there was a vacuum or another setting that would prohibit the car not returning to idle right away. Thanks for any insight.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? I would triple check everything and everything all over again. Good luck

Sure does sound like a vaccum leak. Did you check visaully or did ya try the spray around the intake with some starting fluid/brake clean? You will now right away if its pulling air from anywhere...

check your throttle body, the early FAST 90mm tb's were known to have hanging issues.

Perhaps your tune is to lean? Bieng overly lean can cause that kind of issue. Have ya tuned it since the install? Only other thing Im thinkn could possibly be the TPS hangin up somehow??

yeah kind of sounds like a tune issue.also dont some people drill a hole in the throttle body to help with the idle?

Is there a way to correct the hanging issue with these throttle bodies?

I wish I had another throttle body to eliminate or confirm it is just that. I have a BBK 80mm that was on prior to the install, but I am sure that it would not bolt up to the fast 90mm.

The throttle body was causing the problem, now settling down fine, and will be taking it in for a tune and dyno next week! Will have to post the numbers. I been driving the car way too much beofre, bought in Oct 01 with 9 miles, now well over 105K. Thanks for everyones help!
